Safety and Patch Testing
This page summarizes conservative external-use safety guidance. The final physical label should be followed first.
External use only
Use only on external, intact skin and only on areas allowed by the product label.
Areas to avoid
- Do not use inside the vagina, anus or urethra.
- Avoid mucous membranes and eyes.
- Avoid broken, inflamed, freshly irritated or compromised skin.
Shaving and waxing
Freshly shaved or waxed skin may be more sensitive. Follow the product label before applying near recently treated areas.
Patch testing
Patch testing should follow the manufacturer’s directions on the final label. Do not invent a patch-test duration until it is confirmed.
If irritation develops
Stop use. If irritation is significant, persistent or concerning, seek appropriate professional advice.
Children, storage, pregnancy and breastfeeding
Keep out of reach of children. Storage guidance, pregnancy guidance and breastfeeding guidance should follow the final label and appropriate professional review.
